ABOUT US...

History

Built in April 1914, Brantham Village Hall sits at the heart of New Village and is closely linked to the Xylonite works that reshaped the area in the late 19th and early 20th century. Records list the Hall as being commissioned for C. P. Merriam, with the building designed by Searle & Searle; a reminder of the hall’s close ties with Brantham’s industrial and social history.

Our Objectives

The Village Hall exists to provide and maintain a space for the people of Brantham to use, without discrimination or exclusion. It is intended for meetings, talks, classes and a wide range of recreational and leisure activities, all with the aim of improving quality of life within the parish.

    Management Committee

Brantham Village Hall is run by a dedicated volunteer management committee, who oversee the governance, maintenance and ongoing development of the Hall. The committee works closely with the Village Hall Manager, who manages day-to-day operations including bookings, enquiries and ensuring the Hall remains compliant, well-run and welcoming for all hirers.

We are proud of the commitment and care shown by both our team in keeping the Hall operating smoothly and to a high standard.

In recent years, we have worked hard to improve the Hall’s facilities – raising funds and securing grants to enhance accessibility and improve environmental sustainability. This work is ongoing and represents a genuine labour of love, focused on safeguarding the Hall for future use.
